On the current version of Spotify Buddy, Linux Mint should not require any special setup.
If Spotify Buddy reports that no active playback session was found, make sure Spotify is actively playing on the desktop app, web player, or another connected device. If you do not see the Login to Spotify command, please share your OpenPets and Spotify Buddy versions. Some older documentation refers to a local bridge and ngrok, but the current plugin uses OpenPets’ built-in OAuth flow. |

I haven't used the Spotify Buddy plugin myself, but I think the first thing to check is whether the plugin requires you to authenticate with Spotify through a browser or provide Spotify API credentials.
That information will make it much easier for someone to help troubleshoot the issue. |
