Hi stonebig,
WinPython 3.13.2 and also 3.13.3RC2 have this bug in IPython / qtconsole. With this, any simple NameError in the REPL turns into a huge cryptic AssertionError.
The bug comes from the executing lib upstream, where it's already fixed. Currently 2.0.1 is included in WinPython 3.13.
I upgraded locally to the latest version 2.2.0 and the error went away. Can you still include that upgrade before releasing WinPython 3.13.3?
That would be much appreciated as we want to hop onto winpy 3.13 soon. Thanks a lot!
Jerome
