Talk Title: Mission Critical Audit Logs
At FeedMe, 30 million operations flow through our F&B platform every day. Most look routine. But months or years later, a single staff action can become the most important question in the room. Malaysia's seven-year data retention requirement means audit logs are no longer just engineering infrastructure; they are business evidence for compliance, dispute resolution, and fraud analysis. The challenge is not ingestion volume. It is keeping years of data affordable and queryable at the same time. This talk covers FeedMe's migration of OpenTelemetry logs from POS systems into ClickHouse, where we are seeing up to 90% storage reduction for the same retention period, and how that changes audit logs from a short-lived debugging tool into long-term, searchable business memory.
