Cascade Delete Beziehungen

Was passiert, wenn wir ein Team löschen, das eine Beziehung zu Helden hat?

Automatische Löschung konfigurieren

Es gibt zwei Stellen, an denen diese automatische Löschung konfiguriert wird

  • im Python-Code
  • in der Datenbank

Löschen in Python mit cascade_delete

Beim Erstellen eines Relationship() können wir cascade_delete=True setzen.

Dies konfiguriert SQLModel so, dass die verwandten Datensätze (Helden) automatisch gelöscht werden, wenn der ursprüngliche Datensatz gelöscht wird (ein Team).

Mit dieser Konfiguration, wenn wir ein Team löschen, wird SQLModel (eigentlich SQLAlchemy)

  • Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Objekte für die verwandten Datensätze geladen sind, in diesem Fall die heroes. Wenn sie nicht geladen sind, wird eine SELECT-Abfrage an die Datenbank gesendet, um sie abzurufen.
  • Senden Sie eine DELETE-Abfrage an die Datenbank, einschließlich jedes verwandten Datensatzes (jedes Helden).
  • Schließlich, löschen Sie den ursprünglichen Datensatz (das Team) mit einer weiteren DELETE-Abfrage.

Auf diese Weise kümmert sich der interne Python-Code um das Löschen der verwandten Datensätze, indem er die notwendigen SQL-Abfragen für jeden von ihnen ausgibt.

Tipp

Der Parameter cascade_delete wird in Relationship() gesetzt, auf dem Modell, das keinen Fremdschlüssel hat.

Technische Details

Das Setzen von cascade_delete=True in Relationship() konfiguriert SQLAlchemy so, dass cascade="all, delete-orphan" verwendet wird, was die gebräuchlichste und nützlichste Konfiguration ist, wenn man Kaskadierungs löschungen wünscht.

Löschen in der Datenbank mit ondelete

Im vorherigen Abschnitt haben wir gesehen, dass die Verwendung von cascade_delete die automatische Löschung aus dem Python-Code handhabt.

Aber was passiert, wenn jemand direkt mit der Datenbank interagiert, nicht mit unserem Code, und ein Team mit SQL löscht?

Für diese Fälle können wir die Datenbank so konfigurieren, dass verwandte Datensätze automatisch gelöscht werden, mit dem Parameter ondelete in Field().

ondelete Optionen

Der Parameter ondelete setzt eine SQL ON DELETE in der Fremdschlüsselspalte in der Datenbank.

ondelete kann diese Werte haben

  • CASCADE: Diesen Datensatz (Held) automatisch löschen, wenn der verwandte (Team) gelöscht wird.
  • SET NULL: Diesen Fremdschlüssel (Feld hero.team_id) auf NULL setzen, wenn der verwandte Datensatz gelöscht wird.
  • RESTRICT: Die Löschung dieses Datensatzes (Held) verhindern, wenn ein Fremdschlüsselwert vorhanden ist, indem ein Fehler ausgelöst wird.

ondelete auf CASCADE setzen

Wenn wir die Datenbank so konfigurieren möchten, dass die verwandten Datensätze automatisch gelöscht werden, wenn das übergeordnete Element gelöscht wird, können wir ondelete="CASCADE" setzen.

Verwendung von cascade_delete oder ondelete

An dieser Stelle fragen Sie sich vielleicht, ob Sie cascade_delete oder ondelete verwenden sollen. Die Antwort lautet: beides! 🤓

ondelete konfiguriert die Datenbank, falls jemand direkt damit interagiert.

Aber cascade_delete wird immer noch benötigt, um SQLAlchemy mitzuteilen, dass es die Python-Objekte im Speicher löschen soll.

Unterstützung von Fremdschlüsselbeschränkungen

Einige Datenbanken unterstützen keine Fremdschlüsselbeschränkungen.

Zum Beispiel unterstützt SQLite sie standardmäßig nicht. Sie müssen manuell mit einem benutzerdefinierten SQL-Befehl aktiviert werden.

PRAGMA foreign_keys = ON;

Daher ist es im Allgemeinen eine gute Idee, sowohl cascade_delete als auch ondelete zu konfigurieren.

Was passiert, wenn Sie ondelete="SET NULL" nicht verwenden, nichts bei cascade_delete setzen und ein Team löschen?

Das Standardverhalten ist, dass SQLModel (eigentlich SQLAlchemy) zu den Helden geht und deren team_id aus dem Python-Code auf NULL setzt.

Also, standardmäßig werden diese team_id-Felder auf NULL gesetzt.

Aber wenn jemand zur Datenbank geht und manuell ein Team löscht, könnten die Helden eine team_id erhalten, die auf ein nicht existierendes Team verweist.

Das Hinzufügen der ondelete="SET NULL"-Konfiguration sorgt dafür, dass die Datenbank selbst diese Felder ebenfalls auf NULL setzt.

Die Datenbank es handhaben lassen mit passive_deletes

In den vorherigen Beispielen haben wir ondelete mit CASCADE und SET NULL konfiguriert, um die Datenbank so einzurichten, dass sie die Löschung von verwandten Datensätzen automatisch handhabt. Aber wir haben diese Funktionalität selbst nie genutzt, da SQLModel (SQLAlchemy) standardmäßig die verwandten Datensätze lädt und sie löscht oder mit NULL aktualisiert, bevor die DELETE für das Team gesendet wird.

Wenn Sie wissen, dass Ihre Datenbank die Löschungen oder Aktualisierungen korrekt selbst handhaben könnte, nur mit ondelete="CASCADE" oder ondelete="SET NULL", können Sie passive_deletes="all" im Relationship() verwenden, um SQLModel (eigentlich SQLAlchemy) mitzuteilen, dass es diese Datensätze (für Helden) nicht löschen oder aktualisieren soll, bevor die DELETE für das Team gesendet wird.

ondelete mit RESTRICT

Wir können die Datenbank auch so konfigurieren, dass die Löschung eines Datensatzes (eines Teams) verhindert wird, wenn verwandte Datensätze (Helden) vorhanden sind.

Das Gleiche mit passive_deletes="all": Wenn Sie diese Zeile auskommentieren, wird SQLModel (SQLAlchemy) die Helden laden und aktualisieren, bevor das Team gelöscht wird, ihre Fremdschlüssel team_id auf NULL setzen und die Beschränkung wird nicht wie erwartet funktionieren, Sie werden keinen Fehler sehen. 😅

Helden vor dem Löschen des Teams aktualisieren

Nachdem ondelete="RESTRICT" eingerichtet ist, SQLite für die Unterstützung von Fremdschlüsseln konfiguriert ist und passive_deletes="all" im Relationship() verwendet wird, sehen wir einen Fehler, wenn wir versuchen, ein Team mit Helden zu löschen.

Wenn wir das Team löschen möchten, müssen wir zuerst die Helden aktualisieren und ihre team_id auf None (oder NULL in der Datenbank) setzen.

Durch Aufrufen der Methode .clear() aus einer Liste entfernen wir alle Elemente. Indem wir also team.heroes.clear() aufrufen und dies in der Datenbank speichern, lösen wir die Helden vom Team, was ihre team_id auf None setzt.

Tipp

Das Aufrufen von team.heroes.clear() ähnelt sehr dem, was SQLModel (eigentlich SQLAlchemy) getan hätte, wenn wir passive_deletes="all" nicht konfiguriert hätten.
