Senior Vice President, Information Technology (SVP IT)

The Opportunity

Our client is a leading international manufacturing organisation entering an important phase of growth and transformation. With ambitious plans to significantly expand its presence in the United States, the business is investing in its technology platforms, operating model, infrastructure and digital capabilities to support a larger, more complex and increasingly integrated organisation.


The company is seeking an accomplished Senior Vice President of Information Technology (SVP IT) to provide executive leadership for the technology function across the US business and play a critical role in the wider enterprise transformation.


This is a highly strategic and execution-focused position. The successful candidate will establish and deliver a technology roadmap that supports rapid business growth, new and expanded manufacturing operations, supply-chain integration, commercial expansion and increased organisational scale.


The SVP IT will work closely with the CEO, executive leadership team and global technology organisation to ensure that technology becomes a key enabler of operational performance, scalability and competitive advantage.


Key Responsibilities


Technology Strategy & Transformation

  • Develop and execute the US technology strategy aligned with the organisation's wider business transformation and growth objectives.
  • Define a multi-year technology roadmap capable of supporting significant expansion across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial and corporate operations.
  • Lead major enterprise transformation programmes involving business systems, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity and digital capabilities.
  • Assess the existing technology landscape and identify opportunities to simplify, modernise and standardise systems and processes.
  • Establish an IT operating model capable of supporting a rapidly scaling US organisation.
  • Act as a strategic technology advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.


US Expansion & Business Growth

  • Ensure the technology organisation and infrastructure are capable of supporting rapid expansion within the US market.
  • Lead the technology workstreams associated with new manufacturing facilities, site expansions, acquisitions, integrations and greenfield operations.
  • Develop scalable technology architecture and processes that can be replicated across new locations.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and Commercial leaders to ensure technology supports growth priorities.
  • Support integration between US operations and the company's wider global technology ecosystem.


Enterprise Applications & Manufacturing Technology

  • Provide executive leadership across enterprise platforms including ERP, manufacturing systems, supply-chain technology, CRM, finance and corporate applications.
  • Drive the optimisation and modernisation of ERP and related enterprise platforms.
  • Ensure effective integration between IT systems and Operational Technology (OT) environments across manufacturing operations.
  • Advance the use of automation, digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0 technologies and connected operations where they deliver measurable business value.
  • Improve visibility across manufacturing, inventory, logistics and supply-chain operations through integrated technology and data.


Data, Digital & Analytics

  • Develop an enterprise data and analytics strategy that enables better operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Improve data quality, governance, accessibility and ownership across the organisation.
  • Establish scalable reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to use advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and automation to improve productivity, forecasting and operational performance.
  • Build the digital foundations required to support future innovation across the organisation.


Cybersecurity, Risk & Resilience

  • Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity strategy appropriate for a growing manufacturing organisation.
  • Strengthen security across enterprise IT, manufacturing technology and Operational Technology environments.
  • Ensure appropriate governance, controls, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities are in place.
  • Manage technology-related regulatory, compliance and operational risks.
  • Work closely with global security teams and external partners to continually improve the organisation's cyber resilience.


Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior technology executive with a strong track record of leading IT organisations through periods of significant growth, transformation and operational complexity.


They are likely to bring:


  • Significant experience as a CIO, SVP IT, VP Technology or equivalent senior technology executive.
  • Extensive experience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive, engineering, chemicals, consumer products or another operationally complex environment.
  • Demonstrable experience leading large-scale technology and business transformation programmes.
  • Experience supporting a business through significant geographic expansion, rapid growth, acquisitions, greenfield operations or major site development.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing technology environments, including ERP, MES, supply chain, OT and plant technology.
  • Experience modernising enterprise applications and infrastructure within a multi-site organisation.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, particularly within manufacturing and Operational Technology environments.
  • Experience developing data, analytics, automation and digital transformation strategies.
  • Proven success building and developing senior technology teams.
  • Experience managing significant technology budgets, vendors and transformation portfolios.
  • The ability to operate effectively within a global or matrix organisation.


Key Priorities in the First 12–24 Months


The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Assess the current US technology landscape, organisation and capabilities.
  2. Develop a technology strategy and transformation roadmap aligned with the company's US growth plans.
  3. Establish the technology operating model required to support significant expansion.
  4. Strengthen enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity and operational resilience.
  5. Lead the modernisation and integration of core ERP, manufacturing and supply-chain platforms.
  6. Build stronger data, analytics and management-information capabilities.
  7. Ensure technology readiness for new manufacturing sites, capacity expansion and potential acquisitions.
  8. Build a high-performing technology leadership team and strengthen relationships between IT and the business.
  9. Establish disciplined governance for major technology investments and transformation programmes.
  10. Position technology as a strategic enabler of the organisation's long-term growth in the United States.
