We’re packing our bags (and our newest builds) for a multi-city summer tour! Our engineering and DevRel teams are heading out to connect with builders, creators, and tech leaders across two major upcoming events: 🌉 AI Engineer World Fair | San Francisco (June 29 - July 2) 🇪🇺 WeAreDevelopers World Congress | Berlin (July 8 - July 10) If you're attending either event, come by the Akamai Cloud booth to connect with our team and look under the hood of our live, interactive builds. We’ll be running infrastructure environments right on the showroom floor, featuring setups like our AI Orchestrator. Beyond the booth, our teams are also taking the stage for practical speaker sessions, breaking down how to deploy and scale production-ready infrastructure reliably. 👇 Check out a quick sneak peek of the booth tech in the video below, and let us know in the comments if you’ll be on the ground in San Francisco or Berlin!
Automating your inference environments ensures repeatable and reliable deployments. Developer Advocate Thorsten Hans mapped out a zero-touch infrastructure configuration on Akamai Cloud using a single Terraform manifest. When you execute terraform apply, the automation handles the entire stack: • Provisions a dedicated Linode instance with an NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada GPU. • Configures the network firewall for secure inbound port access. • Leverages cloud-init to automate the kernel headers and NVIDIA driver installation. • Deploys Ollama as a systemd service and pre-pulls the qwen2.5:14b model. A few minutes later, you have a live endpoint fully configured and ready to receive incoming inference requests. 👉 Check out the blog post and access the code here: https://ow.ly/J9ZY50Zfje9

This Juneteenth, we’re taking a moment to reflect, learn, and recognize why this day matters. 🤎🖤 At Akamai, Ohana, meaning family, helps create connection and support for racially diverse talent, including Black, Hispanic, and Latinx Akamites and allies. It’s about building community, sharing resources, and making space for real conversations. Juneteenth reminds us that progress takes intention, and that showing up for one another matters.✊🏾
Heading to the AI Engineer World's Fair in San Francisco this year? The Akamai Cloud team will be on-site at Moscone West from June 29 to July 2. Members from our developer relations team, including Lena Hall, Du'An Lightfoot, Thorsten Hans, and Sheilah K. are hosting workshops and technical sessions throughout the event. 👉 Swipe through the carousel below to grab the exact dates, times, and topics to add to your schedule. If you will be on the floor, drop by Booth P14 to see the live setups, grab some community swag, or map out architecture ideas with the team. Let us know in the comments if you’ll be in town, we’d love to connect.

The era of experimental edge AI is over. The market appetite for distributed inference is both real and lucrative. Akamai is transforming its edge network into an active, intelligent computational fabric. By distributing GPU-powered compute, Akamai provides the flexible inference stack needed to support models and orchestration at scale. The edge is the new frontier for production AI. We’re launching Edge Case: Dev2Prod, a new bi-weekly live coding show hosted entirely inside our Edge Case Discord server. We’ve brought together our developer advocates Ruckus Voxi, Thorsten Hans, Du'An Lightfoot and Sheilah Kirui to plan, architect, code, test, and deploy a complete end-to-end production use case live. For Episode 1, Ruckus Voxi is taking the mic and kicking things off completely from scratch. First Episode Details: 📅 Wednesday, June 24th ⏰ 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET 📍 Live on the Edge Case Discord Whether you want to follow along with the build, grill us with your stack questions in chat, or just hang out with the community while we work, we’d love to have you there. 👉 Jump into the Edge Case Discord server to join the community and RSVP for the event: https://lnkd.in/gTm3S9GV
Building with WebAssembly, Spin, Edge AI, or cloud-native infrastructure, the Edge Case Discord is a great place to connect with fellow engineers. It is an active community focused entirely on sharing technical knowledge and collaborating on real-world edge architectures! Inside, developers are regularly: 💻 Swapping code templates to save time on boilerplate. 🛠️ Troubleshooting complex infrastructure setups alongside peers who build on the same stack. 🏗️ Sharing architectures and talking shop over their latest active builds. Plus, if you are new to Akamai Cloud, you can grab a $300 infrastructure credit right inside the welcome channel to help fuel your next build. What a day at AI Inference Hack Day in San Francisco! ⚡ More than 400+ builders signed up for a full day of hands-on hacking in SF. We as Akamai Technologies are lucky to support the community building with AI - and the energy did not let up from the 9:30 AM kickoff to the evening demos. The challenge: build a working demo proving that smarter inference choices can make AI products faster, cheaper, safer, or more reliable. A few things that stood out to me: 🔹Inference is becoming a product decision, not just an infra one. Teams were routing models based on price, speed, and task type - and the UX difference was immediately visible. 🔹 Evals and observability are no longer optional. Some of the strongest projects weren't flashy agents - they were tools that make production AI workflows measurable and debuggable. 🔹 Mixed teams win. Designers, founders, and operators hacking alongside engineers produced demos that actually solved real product problems. Huge thanks to HackerSquad team and Adam Chan for organizing. We are happy to support the community with Akamai Technologies cloud credits and APIs that let teams ship real things in a single day. If you're building where model APIs meet real product constraints, this is the community to be in. See you at the next one! #AI #Inference #Hackathon #LLMs #BuildInPublic
Building distributed Kubernetes setups and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) comes with plenty of hidden operational hurdles If you're looking to learn more about scaling this kind of infrastructure, we're hitting the road to talk systems engineering face-to-face. No generic pitch decks—just real conversations about managing policy-as-code, optimizing clusters, and building platform tooling that actually works in production Join the Akamai team at our next two stops to talk shop and work through your deployment challenges: 🗓️ AI Engineer World's Fair • June 29 - July 2, 2026 | San Francisco, CA • Find us: Booth P14 🗓️ WeAreDevelopers World Congress • July 8–10, 2026 | Berlin, Germany • Find us: Booth A34 (Hall A) In the meantime, check out our Developer Hub and join our Discord: 🌐 Developer Hub: https://ow.ly/9uOT50ZaEzF 💬 Discord Community: https://ow.ly/lW0650ZaEzE
