Back to 2022: the government and Belnet concluded together that the WAN connectivity of the Belgian federal government could be cheaper, more efficient and of better quality.
Belnet, as the government's leading IT partner, took up the challenge of acting as a facilitator, in collaboration with connectivity partner Telenet Business, to centralise all WAN connections between Brussels federal public services and their regional sites.
Throughout 2024, the advantages of such an approach are becoming increasingly evident: on one hand, significant savings are being achieved, and on the other hand, there is strong uniformity: Belnet is the single point of contact, which guarantees clear communication and reliable follow-up. In addition to connecting federal public services with their regional sites, we also like to connect our clients with each other, as evidenced by the interactive FedWAN Day. During the FedWan Day in October, about ten federal public services received both project and technical updates, and there was also the opportunity to exchange experiences and interact.
