πŸ‘‹ Welcome to my GitHub!

Hi, I'm Gonzalo Daroqui, a software enthusiast and Android developer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Since 2016, I've been diving into personal Android projects, focusing on low-level optimization, custom kernels, and device-specific tuning. I love exploring how things work under the hood and contributing to open-source projects. Currently, I am expanding my skill set and looking for collaborative or professional opportunities in tech.

πŸ› οΈ Skills & Tools

  • Android Development: Kernel Upstreaming, Custom ROMs Building, Device Trees, and Blobs Management.
  • DevOps & Automation: Git, GitHub Actions (Certified).
  • Data & Analytics: PowerBI (Basic-Medium Certified), Power Query (Advanced workflows & automation).
  • System Administration: Linux Server Management (Permissions, optimizations, and deployment).
  • Languages: Spanish (Native) | English (B2 - Technical & Project Translation).
  • Hobbies: Photography (Check out some of my urban shots on Instagram).

πŸ’Ό Real-World Impact: Process Automation Case Study

At my current data role for the apparel brand OrangutΓ‘n, I was tasked with managing weekly stock control, integrating costs, retail prices, and profit margins. As data scaled, this manual process became massive and highly repetitive, taking up to 5 hours per report and generating complex, unmaintainable documentation.

To fix this inefficiency, I took the initiative to master Power Query from scratch under an intense, 4-day hyper-focus sprint.

πŸš€ The Outcome:

  • Efficiency: Automated 90% of the entire workflow, reducing the report generation time from 5 hours down to just 15–20 minutes.
  • Scalability: Eliminated the need for a convoluted 40-page technical manual, ensuring the pipeline remains clean, scalable, and easy for anyone to run.
  • Business Value: Significantly optimized data accuracy and freed up hours of weekly operational bandwidth.

πŸ“ˆ Featured Projects

  • Description: Upstreamed the legacy 3.18 kernel to 4.9 for the Moto E5+.
  • Impact: Extended the device's lifecycle by bypassing Android 12+ eBPF limitations, enabling newer Android versions to run on old hardware.
  • Description: Contributed to a custom kernel project targeting the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series (Exynos 2100) and Galaxy A52q/A72q.
  • Impact: Implemented several low-level optimizations. Community feedback highlighted significant improvements in UI smoothness and overall performance.
  • Description: Attempted to upgrade the Xiaomi Mi 8 kernel from 4.9 to 4.19.
  • Takeaway: A great learning experience in low-level debugging. The kernel successfully booted into recovery mode, although it didn't achieve a full system boot due to missing platform resources.

βš™οΈ Supported Devices

  • Motorola Moto Edge 30 (dubai)
  • Xiaomi Redmi 4X (santoni)
  • Samsung Galaxy A52 / A72 (a52q/a72q) [Proton+]
  • Samsung Exynos 2100 (exynos2100) [Proton+]

⚠️ Current Status: I am focused on private development and learning; I do not maintain public builds or accept device requests at the moment unless hardware/funding is provided for development.
