JRuby 10 is the current major version of JRuby. It is compatible with Ruby 3.4 and requires Java 21 or higher.

• JRuby 10 Ruby 3.4 compatible, active development, bug fixes, and security fixes.

We recommend all users upgrade to JRuby 10. Most work on new features, optimizations, and bug fixes will be released first (and possibly only) for JRuby 10.

• JRuby 9.4 Ruby 3.1 compatible, maintenance mode, primarily security fixes.

JRuby 9.4 is in maintenance mode and will receive security fixes and select bug fixes at least through April 2026.

• JRuby 9.3 Ruby 2.6 compatible, EOL.

JRuby 9.3 has moved into EOL and is no longer supported in OSS by the JRuby team. Users requiring JRuby 9.3 support may contact Headius Enterprises for commercial JRuby support offerings.
