Backend engineer by trade 🐍 based in Tokyo, building AI-native software systems. About ten years of making things that stay up — mostly inside companies that keep their code private, so this page only shows the solo stuff.
- Tokyo Mogu Mogu — a mobile-first app for discovering Tokyo's regional food culture through open data. Current milestone: a deterministic hackathon demo for August 2026.
- Chabiko — Traditional-Chinese for Japanese speakers preparing for a Taiwan trip. Live at chabiko.pages.dev.
- tachi-lens — a bring-your-own-key Chrome extension for immersive Twitch chat translation.
AI is a collaborator, not a code generator. GitHub is the coordination layer between me and coding agents:
Product/architecture decision → implementation-ready Issue → implementation → tests → Pull Request → independent review → merge
Historically Python: Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Docker, Nginx, GCP. Solo builds start frontend-first — the cheapest way to learn if anyone actually wants the thing before I invest in a backend.
Into Japanese space missions (はやぶさ 遥かなる帰還 is a favorite), the historical drama 龍馬傳, and Ghost in the Shell — which probably explains the AI-agent stuff.
