#develop (short for SharpDevelop)

Overview

#develop is a free Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for C#, VB.NET, Boo, IronPython, IronRuby and F# projects on Microsoft's .NET platform. It is written (almost) entirely in C#, and comes with features you would expect in an IDE plus a few more.

The #develop project started on September 11th, 2000. The project was initiated by Mike Krüger. In the course of the project, several contributors joined in.

How To Compile

#Develop can be compiled using the supplied .bat files, or in #Develop itself.

LibreWPF / LibreWinForms portable build

The portable ProGPU/Silk.NET build consumes the public LibreWPF and LibreWinForms 0.1.0-preview.11 packages from NuGet.org:

dotnet build src/Main/SharpDevelop/SharpDevelop.Full.LibreWpf.csproj -c Release

Run ./eng/librewpf-public-preview-smoke.sh on macOS or Linux to restore into a clean package cache, verify the complete LibreWPF/LibreWinForms/ProGPU version set, build the ResourceToolkit-enabled workbench, and exercise StartPage, Search/Replace, ClassDiagram, the LineCounter WinForms designer, the WPF/XAML designer, ResourceToolkit, HexEditor, and Reporting in isolated configuration directories. Both designer gates verify typed selection, editing, undo/redo, serialization, presentation, clean shutdown, and unchanged source fixtures. The WPF designer gate also selects a real child through its typed outline model, verifies that the design surface and property grid follow that selection, edits the selected child with undo/redo serialization, and restores the prior selection before closing the document. That outline lane is source-guarded against reflection-based field, method, or event discovery.
